'Basil & Brick Pizzeria started with a clear vision: to share true Neapolitan pizza with New York. Established by the Romano family in 1987, our pizzeria began as a cozy, family-run spot, built on recipes passed down through the years.
Luca Romano, our founder, mastered pizza-making while traveling across Italy, training with expert pizzaiolos in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. When she returned to the UK, she set out to recreate the essence of authentic Italian pizza using classic techniques and top-quality ingredients.
What began as a tiny 12-seat pizzeria has grown into a cherished neighborhood favorite, yet our dedication to craftsmanship and authenticity remains unchanged. We still rely on wood-fired baking methods, prepare our dough fresh every day, and select only the finest ingredients.
Today, 'Basil & Brick Pizzeria is still owned and run by the family, with the second generation of the Romano family leading our enthusiastic team. While we’ve adopted a few modern touches, our core mission stays the same: making flavorful, genuine pizza that brings people together.
